This course introduces the fundamental skills of effective written and oral communication including style, structure, and language appropriate for various purposes and audiences.  Students will be actively involved in research methodology, writing, and speaking.  As part of the course work, students will review basic grammar and usage, study vocabulary, read select fiction and nonfiction texts, and utilize technology to develop multimedia products and presentations.

The purpose of this year-long interdisciplinary course is to introduce various components of speech, literature, history, and composition in order to create an understanding and appreciation of our world.  We will focus on components of Oral Communication, Writing, and Vocabulary.  Our focus will include elements of research as well as speaking and writing for a variety of purposes.
